Job Overview

The Demand Planning Manger will develop and lead the Demand Management process aimed at achieving best practice.  The role will be critical in building a Demand Management function and implementing and enforcing processes, procedures and tools that recognize and manage customer demand of all products.  It will also develop demand plans for use in sales, production, and supply planning and scheduling for aggregate and detailed planning and facilitate the overall planning process by interacting with Sales, Product Management, Marketing and S&OP.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead the development, execution, maintenance, and communication of Demand Management processes, policies and tools that reinforce roles and responsibilities and provide clarity to cross-functional teams.
  2. Develop the monthly aggregate demand plan with supporting assumptions and based on market and other trend indicators to be utilized for the Demand Review and in sales and operations planning.
  3. Develop, document, update, and challenge the factors and assumptions that form the monthly demand plan including the product mix forecast and new product plans.
  4. Prepare and facilitate the monthly Demand Review part of the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) reviews.
  5. Assist the development of product/manufacturing strategies and objectives, including customer service objectives, inventory targets, lead time/backlog objectives, and demand planning time fences for change management.
  6. Perform market analysis, determine customer demands and provide strategic what-if analysis.
  7. Develop and automate reporting and forecast planning by supporting new product launches, promotions, customer forecast planning, and reporting of KPI’s.
  8. Monitor demand plan performance with detailed input to inform the Demand Review and gaining consensus. Measure and report actual vs. planned performance at the aggregate level (family/sub-family), item, and mix.
  9. Serve as the subject matter expert on all matters concerning demand including software and ERP systems used to manage and develop demand. Provide training to internal teams on the areas of demand management, forecasting, order entry and other relevant topics.  
  10. Conduct and help problem solve solutions by assisting and leading efforts at Root Cause Corrective Action.
  11. Maintain and utilize demand planning systems, ERP data, and Business Intelligence tools to build analysis and reporting as well as provide information
  12. Responsible for managing cross-functional/multi-site projects and workstream team activities, including content, timeliness, quality of deliverables, cross-work stream integration, and helping in the implementation planning processes.
  13. Support creation and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures and guidelines.
  14. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What we need from you:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or other applicable degrees such as Finance. MBA or advanced degree a plus.
  • Minimum 7+ years of related experience in demand or supply planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet operational goals while also fostering a positive work environment.
  • Strong interpersonal communication, organizational, and analytical problem solving and planning abilities.
  • Demonstrated capability to analyze the cause of a problem and provide solutions for corrective action.
  • Understanding of how demand planning supports the Company’s strategic plans and impacts performance of other business functions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal working relationships with internal and external customers and develop a collaborative working relationship across the spectrum of leadership levels
  • Capability to help translate information into business implications
  • Skilled in analysis, planning and documenting processes and can provide information concisely, accurately, verbally, and through presentation.
