Job Overview

Oversee, plan, and direct plant production of CTI Foods products on a variety of production lines in the processing departments. Incumbent is responsible for assurance that all production processes meet the food safety, quality, personal safety and cost objectives for the facility. Interpret and enforce company policies; assist in the determination of staffing needs and make recommendations; manage, coach, evaluate and train production supervisors. Incumbent is responsible for achieving production goals that will maintain or improve quality, comply with all federal and state requirements and any other regulatory issues common to the food industry.

Responsibilities

1. Oversee, plan, and direct plant production of CTI Foods products on a variety of production lines in the processing departments.
2. Support continuous improvement in all production processes to improve labor costs, yield, supply utilization, employee safety, food safety and product quality.
3. Manage, coach, evaluate and train production supervisors.
4. Ensures the hiring, training, development and management of the operations team to ensure that all personnel are familiar with operating processes and procedures and are meeting or exceeding HACCP and SQF requirements.
5. Assists in safety risk identification and takes appropriate action to minimize risk. Responsible for holding their subordinates accountable for the proper execution of their safety responsibilities.
6. Coordinate and approve staffing for each line within all the departments.
7. Coordinate activities with the Plant Maintenance Leadership to maximize line efficiency by reducing downtime.
8. Insure maximum use of each department’s available capacity and effective use of labor, tools and equipment.
9. Maintain sound personnel policies and practices in accordance with CTI Policies and procedures.
10. Responsible for root cause analysis and correction of production related problems.
11. Develops and implements methods to share knowledge with others who need it. Make decisions about the company’s next steps regarding succession planning.
12. Responsible for creating and maintaining SOPs across all areas of production.
13. Promotes, adheres, and is responsible for Food Safety and Quality.
14. Any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Food Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 5-7 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3 years’ supervisory experience.
• Must have strong typing and PC skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills are required.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, union contract, etc.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• HACCP experience.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting ability.
• Demonstrated experience in department cost control and budget management
• Ability to perform multiple tasks to accomplish objectives.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to interrupt a variety of technical information in mathematical and/or narrative form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
• Bi-Lingual a positive but not required.
