Job Overview

This multi-site position is responsible for maintaining a safe work environment for all employees and insuring CTI locations comply with all OSHA regulations. Through analysis and investigations, define problem/opportunity areas; develop and implement training programs and policies to address the problem areas and meet OSHA requirements. In addition, this position may direct the new employee training programs.

Responsibilities

  1. Ensure safety training of all site leadership and employees to ensure a thorough knowledge and understanding of safety rules, regulations and guidelines.
  2. Advise site leader on EHS compliance concerns and preventative actions.
  3. Develop/review site risk assessments and job hazard analysis.
  4. Support and coordinate safety committee meetings and actions.
  5. Maintain/verify employee training records are up to date and accurate.
  6. Develop/Update/Implement EHS programs and training materials as needed.
  7. Manage and source PPE for site.
  8. Responsible for facility compliance with all OSHA, state and federal regulations. This includes implementing new programs within OSHA time frames.
  9. Report worker’s compensation claims to carrier and manage.
  10. Implement all OSHA standards and regulations in a timely manner, and maintain all necessary records for workers compensation, OSHA and any other records assigned.
  11. Accident investigations and review as well as provide analysis and recommendations to eliminate future accidents.
  12. Oversee company back-to-work programs for employees injured on the job.
  13. Assist engineering with EPA and environmental reporting and program development.
  14. Develop, implement and manage plant safety audit and inspection programs. Manage corrective/preventive action registers as part of the program.
  15. Responsible for the follow-up of safety related corrective actions to ensure they are executed and sustained.
  16. Establish and maintain accurate record keeping of inspections, procedures, and JSA’s.
  17. Work closely with production personnel and assist with environmental, health and safety issues.
  18. Complete daily, weekly and monthly testing and inspections for various EHS tasks.
  19. Provide global reporting and data analysis related to EHS metrics and corporate agenda.
  20. Provide expertise and support to other EHS personnel.
  21. Share and report on best practices or incidents with other sites.
  22. Perform routine and non-routine data evaluation for environmental, safety and health metrics and reports.
  23. Analyze trends from metrics and reports to implement new strategies for safety improvement.
  24. Manage department allocation of resources.
  25. Ability to support a flexible schedule.
  26. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What we need from you:

Technical Skills:

  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must possess leadership, presentation and training skills, organization, and planning abilities.
  • Provide hands-on training and coaching of others.

Requirements:

  • 5 or more years in EHS with heavy focus on safety.
  • Demonstrated experience significantly lowering recordable incident rates.
  • Manufacturing experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to travel 40%

Preferred But Not Required:

  • Safety or environmental degree
  • EHS certification 
  • Food manufacturing 
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year university preferred.
  • Bilingual, English and Spanish
