Job Overview

The Supply Chain Planner will develop and lead the Demand and Supply Management process aimed at achieving best practice.  Responsible for ensuring CTI Foods has the right inventory levels to meet customer demand, while also optimizing the flow of goods from suppliers to customers. You will forecast demand, help manage inventory, and work with procurement to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products to our customers. Your demand plan will be used in finance (budgeting), sales, production, and procurement departments for overall direction and planning purposes.

Responsibilities

Demand Planning

  1. Use historical sales data, market trends, seasonal demand patterns, and customer orders to forecast future demand for finished goods.​
  2. Work closely with customer operations to gather insights on promotional activities, new product launches, deletions, and market dynamics that might affect demand.​

Supply Planning

  1. Work with scheduling analysts to align manufacturing with demand forecasts, ensuring that production output matches the demand and DOH targets for finished goods.​
  2. Identify potential risks in the supply chain and work collaboratively to develop mitigation plans.​
  3. Collaborate with customer operations, scheduling, project management and procurement teams to align planning activities for product ramp ups and downs.​
  4. Support new product launches and promotional planning with integrated supply plans.​

Performance Management and Continuous Improvement

  1. Monitor and review in weekly meetings key performance indicators (KPIs) weekly, such as DOH, forecast bias and forecast error.​
  2. Conduct weekly reviews with scheduling and procurement to ensure customer and business targets are being met.​
  3. Conduct bi-weekly account reviews with customer operations to share KPIs and discuss performance gaps.​
  4. Maintain and utilize demand planning systems, ERP data, and Business Intelligence tools to build analysis and reporting as well as provide information.​
  5. Serve as the subject matter expert on all matters concerning demand including software and ERP systems used to manage and develop demand.  ​
  6. Identify opportunities to enhance process efficiency, quality and performance.​
  7. Conduct and help problem solve solutions by assisting and leading efforts at Root Cause Corrective Action.​
  8. Support creation and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures and guidelines.​

Qualifications

What we need from you:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or other applicable degrees such as Finance. MBA or advanced degree a plus.
  • Minimum 3+ years of related experience in demand or supply planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet operational goals while also fostering a positive work environment.
  • Strong interpersonal communication, organizational, and analytical problem solving and planning abilities.
  • Demonstrated capability to analyze the cause of a problem and provide solutions for corrective action.
  • Understanding of how demand planning supports the Company’s strategic plans and impacts performance of other business functions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal working relationships with internal and external customers and develop a collaborative working relationship across the spectrum of leadership levels
  • Capability to help translate information into business implications
  • Skilled in analysis, planning and documenting processes and can provide information concisely, accurately, verbally, and through presentation.
  • Adaptable to change with a mindset focused on learning and continuous improvement.
