Job Overview

The Production Manager will have 24 hour accountability for all business unit results, daily management systems and organizational health. They will be responsible for managing and improving the results within their assigned area to contribute to the overall Saginaw Plant strategies and priorities. In this role they will manage the people, equipment and processes that come together to create their end product in way that is preferred to consumers and downstream customers. This person will work to grow the capability of the people in their area as well as incorporate new reliability tools into the current systems in a way that is meaningful to drive continuous improvement and produce extraordinary results.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include: 

Duties and Essential Job Functions:

  • Ensure clear direction and priorities for the business unit and that these are aligned with the site
  • Develop and maintain team work plan
  • Manage direct and indirect labor efficiently
  • Track and gap results vs work plan and budget for all KPIs including safety and quality
  • Develop direct reports and area leaders
  • Provide training, coaching and facilitation
  • Manage the Safety systems within their area
  • Lead the development of key daily management systems in the business unit such as Level 1/Level 2 meetings, RCFA, Operational Standards documentation and other critical continuous improvement initiatives
  • Identify and manage enabler projects
  • Coach the daily Level 2 meetings
  • Communicate business unit results, priorities and needs to senior management

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business is preferred.

3 -5 years’ experience in a food manufacturing environment and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.

3 - 5 years’ supervisory experience.
