Job Overview

The Commercialization Project Manager will direct and manage Sales projects from beginning to end of the full cycle of the project. They will work collaboratively with the cross-functional team to develop an innovation strategy that is grounded in retail consumer and food service customer understanding.  They should have the ability to liaise with operational teams to leverage their project management expertise by fully immersing in the plant’s day-to-day operations from procurement of ingredients and raw materials to the production of finished goods and external warehousing needs. 

Responsibilities

  1. Manage multiple sales projects simultaneously through the Commercialization Workflow while partnering with senior management and cross-functional stakeholders to clearly define project scope, objectives, goals, milestones, timelines, resources, track key project metrics (deliverables, budget, risks, issues, etc.).
  2. Anticipate factors and constraints that may affect timeline, project priorities, and resource needs.
  3. Manage a focused set of product categories across several sales channels using defined project tracking tools and processes.
  4. Facilitate critical meetings for project kick-off, status reports, and Senior Leadership Team meetings.
  5. Report project outcomes and/risks to the appropriate cross-functional stakeholders and escalate issues, as necessary, according to the project plan.
  6. Maintain open lines of communications for updates and feedback from the cross-functional team.
  7. Maintain accurate and detailed project records throughout the life of the project.
  8. May provide expertise on industry trends, market share, competitive activity, and competitive product cuttings.
  9. Work with the cross-functional team to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of each project.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What We Need From You:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a business, marketing, or related discipline. MBA a bonus.
  • 5 plus years of project management or account management experience required.
  • Food Service or Retail CPG food experience required.
  • Experience in using project management systems.
  • Proven record of independently managing multiple cross-functional projects.
  • Demonstrated strong sense of urgency with an emphasis on managing timelines, meeting deadlines, and timely identification and communication project issues and risks.
  • Demonstrated understanding of food manufacturing, procurement, demand and supply planning, food safety, product pricing, research & development, and sales principles.
  • Analytical thinker who can translate insights and vision into an operational plan.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective work relationships with boundaries.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, critical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced sometimes ambiguous environment, with rapidly changing priorities.
  • Ability to travel, based on the priority and probability of the project.
  • Proficient in daily use of Salesforce, Synergy, or comparable CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
